How to become Financially Independent and Escape the Rat Race:
Here are 69 helpful ideas to help you plan your escape from the rat race.  
You may
know these things, but are you doing them?

1)      Live below your means and invest the difference.
2)      Invest or pay off debt using unexpected income.
3)      Get debt free, yesterday.
4)      Create an emergency fund of 3 to 6 months of living expenses.
5)      After you are retired, increase your emergency fund to 12 months.
6)      Max your Roth IRA.
7)      Contribute to your 401K up to your employer match (or more if you
have also maxed your Roth IRA).
7B)    Invest a portion of your income into silver and/or gold coins.
7C)    Learn about options. Experiment with "straddling."
8)      Do a background check on your potential broker or financial planner.
9)      Roll your old 401(k)s into to a traditional IRA.
10)    Never, ever, withdraw retirement funds before you retire.
11)    Don’t buy annuities unless you have already maxed your IRA & 401(k).
12)    Don’t buy whole life insurance as an investment. You will only earn 2-
3% and you will pay huge commissions.
13)    Buy term life insurance to protect your family.
14)    Work two jobs, if need be, or:
15A)  Start and bootstrap a business on the side, or:
15B)  Start a small real estate holding company, or
16)    Put in for overtime, or:
17)    Go back to college part time.
18)    Invest at least half of all pay increases.
19)    Always know what your net worth is.
20)    Get organized.
21)    Keep a journal. Write down investment ideas, business ideas or any
other thought that you want to remember.
22)    Delay purchases. Make sure you really want or need what you are
buying.  Wait for a better price.
23)    Get online and sell all your old stuff that you don’t use anymore.
24)    Keep out of debt as much as possible. Paying interest, late fees,
annual fees, and hidden fees does not help create wealth.
25)    Buy short term disability insurance.
26)    Network.  Join an investment club or a local Rich Dad group or a small
business group or other organizations.

32)    Get your Realtor's licence if you are interested in real estate.
33)    Read good books about investing, real estate, sales, and business.
34)    Listen to audio books about personal finance, investing, and business
in your car.  Take a look at the bookstore in this site.
35)    Read stories about millionaires, billionaires and people who retired
early.
36)    Learn to sell, negotiate, persuade, and build rapport. These four skills
will help you land excellent deals, jobs, sales, and more.
37)    Update your resume. You will never know when a great new
opportunity will come around or when the axe will fall at work.
38)    Check your credit report at least every year.
39)    Decide upon your financial goal and try not to change it.  Make sure it
is realistic but something you must stretch and sacrifice for.
40)    Know exactly why you want financial independence and stay focused.
